Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension: A Review of Neuroimaging and Current Concepts

چکیده
Abstract Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SICH) is the emerging cause of orthostatic headache as it has been better recognized in recent years. SICH happens due to spinal cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak; however, manifestations are predominantly cranial and hence imaging includes brain spine. There few characteristic features be concerned about diagnose patients with vague symptoms or low clinical suspicion. Spine screening recommended these assess CSF leaks. While neuroradiologists play a significant role from time diagnosis treatment SICH, there need for all general radiologists aware condition. Computed tomography myelogram digital subtraction performed diagnostic therapeutic management SICH. known risk recurrence sagittal longitudinal epidural collection hence, targeted blood patch should used instead blind patch. Most importantly, slow mobilization following avoid recurrence.

Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension is a syndrome involving reduced intracranial pressure secondary to a dural tear which occurs mostly due to connective tissue disorders such as Marfans Syndrome, and Ehler Danlos Syndrome. Patients with dural ectasias leading to CSF leakage into the subdural or epidural space classically present with orthostatic headaches and cranial nerve deficits mostly see...

Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) is an increasingly recognised syndrome. Postural headache with typical findings on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are the key to diagnosis. Orthostatic headache, low cerebrospinal fluid opening pressure, and diffuse meningeal enhancement on post-contrast T1-weighted MRI brain studies are the major features of this increasingly recognised syndrome. He...

Spontaneous intracranial hypotension is a rare benign and usually self-limited condition of unknown aetiology. Four cases are presented that illustrate how the MRI features may support a diagnosis suggested on clinical grounds. The MRI findings include diffuse symmetric smooth dural thickening and enhancement, not only at the cranial level, but also involving the cervical spinal dura, subdural ...
متن کاملSpontaneous Intracranial Hypotension Plus Cerebral Venous Thrombosis: A Case Report Study
This is a case study of a 34-year-old woman who was admitted to hospital with a history of severe orthostatic headache. She was diagnosed as having spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) by undetectable cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure at lumbar puncture, and with evidence of diffuse dural enhancement of the brain detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, the contrast-enhance...
